The women
The residents both past and present are women of all ages, cultural and social back grounds. Their difficulties often stem from very precarious living situations that lead them towards asking for help. Every path has its own unique aspects and can be characterised by contributing factors such as: poverty, social exclusion, lack of significant social or family ties, dependence, physical ailments or disability, issues of mental health, violence etc. For many of the women we meet, moving forward means battling many obstacles along the way. It is only common sense to respect each individual's pace as we assure them of our continuing support through both good times and bad. The goal is to create along this winding road, a better quality of life. The workers
Our team is comprised of 14 full time and a dozen part time workers. These people provide all the in-house and external services. The women on staff are dedicated to contributing to the welfare of each resident. It is clear that our intervention is centered on responding to the needs of our residents whether near or far. Our strength resides in our solidarity.
The members of the Board of Directors
The role of our board of directors is to provide the support needed to insure that the mandate of the Auberge is actualised. There are 9 members elected to the board of directors, at the yearly General Assembly. The majority of our board members are women who have either used our services or people who live within the community. There is also at all times a staff representative. This group of people volunteers their time and expertise. They come together with the common goal of making a difference. It is by working together within a feminist perspective that they affect change in our community.Officers of the Board of Directors 2009-2010:
